In a field of more than 90 Jazz Band performances at this year’s Jazz in the Meadows Saturday, Feb. 23, at Rolling Meadows High School, Wheeling High School’s Jazz Band I earned the highest scores of the day.

The Wheeling Jazz Band I, directed by Brian Logan, won Class “AAA” for the sixth consecutive year and qualified to participate in the finals.

Two of the five judges placed Wheeling in first place in the finals, but, in the end, Wheeling took second, just behind Warren High School, Gurnee.
