Celebrate St. Nick’s arrival in Schaumburg

Celebrate the holidays and the arrival of Jolly Old St. Nick at Schaumburg Park District.

The district’s ’Twas a Saturday Night Before … will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Families will enjoy a performance of the 30-minute musical “Candy Cane Calamity” beginning at 6 p.m. From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., participants will meet Santa, Rudolph and Frosty; enjoy holiday entertainment provided by the Schaumburg Idols and Expressions and Charmed Dance Companies; decorate cookies; and take part in arts, crafts, games and face painting. The evening will conclude with a performance of the classic, “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

All participants will receive a photo with Santa, milk and cookies. Bring a camera for photos with Rudolph and Frosty. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for seating for the musical.

Registration is only accepted at the Community Recreation Center. Admission ticket is given upon event registration. Preregistration fee is $8 per child and $10 per adult. Day-of registration fee is $10 per child and $12 per adult.
