District 214 foundation benefit auction starts Thursday

On Thanksgiving Day, make sure you leave room for a plateful of bidding as the 2012 Online Auction goes live at 6 p.m. through eBay, kicking off the season for holiday gift shopping with a heart!

Brought to you by the District 214 Community Education Foundation, the 2012 Online Auction runs for 10 days from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1. Bid on tickets to coveted sports events, romantic getaways, hotel stays, golf packages, gastronomical junkets to the hottest restaurants in the area, autographed memorabilia, and much more.

From a signed Justin Bieber picture frame, to a signed Blackhawks collectible, to several wine tasting experiences at some of the finest locations in the area, to a walk-on role in A Christmas Carol at the Metropolis in Arlington Heights, this year’s online auction presents great gift ideas for everyone on your list this holiday season.

“We’re very excited to have the online auction this year,” said Mike Field, foundation director. “This is a terrific opportunity for the foundation’s friends and supporters to name their price on wonderful items and experiences for holiday gifts, while supporting Community Education’s many vital community-based programs and services.”

District 214 Community Education serves more than 50,000 participants every year. Proceeds from the online auction will benefit programs that include English as a Second Language (ESL) for adults, the Catherine M. Lee Women’s & Children’s Kids on Track, Adult Education & Family Literacy, Adult Basic Education, Cultural & Performing Arts, and Intergenerational and Older Adult programs.

For information or questions, call (847) 718-7708 or 7799. To bid, visit Community Education’s website at ce214.org.
