Schaumburg Boomers to hold open tryouts

The Schaumburg Boomers will hold their first Open Player Tryout on Friday, April 27 at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road in Schaumburg.

The tryout is free and registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. for position players and at 11:30 a.m. for pitchers. Players interested in attending must be at least 18 years old and at most 27 as of Dec. 31, 2011.

Players must arrive in baseball attire and supply their own wooden bats, gloves and cleats, and catchers must provide their own gear. The Boomers will supply only batting helmets and baseballs.
