Schaumburg District 54 to host recycling event

Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54, the village of Schaumburg and the Schaumburg Township District Library will host a free multifaceted recycling event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at the District 54 office, 524 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.

Recyclable items include electronics and computer equipment; clothing, shoes and other textiles; automotive batteries; motor oil and antifreeze; bicycles, wheelchairs and sewing machines; CFL light bulbs; cellphones and other wireless devices; eyeglasses; and American flags. Up to two boxes of documents per person may be shredded. Not accepted at the event will be paint, gas, paint thinner and other hazardous waste.
