Schaumburg park will mark your memories

The Schaumburg Park Foundation is offering area residents the chance to weave their personal milestones or memories of loved ones into one of the most scenic sections of the community.

The Schaumburg Park District’s new Tribute Park features brick-paved walkways and wooden benches along Volkening Lake, just north of Schaumburg Road and west of Salem Drive.

The not-for-profit foundation, which raises private funding for park district programs, is selling the personalization of the park’s walkway bricks and benches.

Engraved commemorative bricks may feature a message, family name or memory, or mark a birthday, anniversary or graduation.

The three available sizes of paving stones are the half stone for $75, the full stone for $100 and the extra large stone for $150.

The park’s benches may also be used in the tribute program for prices starting at $3,000.
