U-46 School News for Week of Nov. 28

Bartlett High School

On Thursday, band students will present a concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission is $1 per student, $2 per adult and $6 per family. Senior citizens 62 and older who live within U-46 boundaries may attend for free with proof of age and address.

Elgin High School

On Saturday, a Madrigal Dinner will be presented at Epworth United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. For ticket information, please call 847-888-5100, ext. 5103.

Larkin High School

On Sunday, Dec. 4, the VPAA Chamber Orchestra will perform at 2 p.m. during the Steeple Walk at the United Methodist Church at 211 Hamilton St. in Geneva. To order tickets, call 630-232-7120 Monday through Thursday. Tickets are $12 per person.

Streamwood High School

On Tuesday, students from SHS will present an Orchestra concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission is $1 per student, $2 per adult and $6 per family. Senior citizens 62 and older who live within U-46 boundaries may attend for free with proof of age and address.

Eastview Middle School

On Wednesday, band students will present a Band concert at Bartlett High School at 7 p.m. Admission is $1 per student, $2 per adult and $6 per family. Senior citizens 62 and older who live within U-46 boundaries may attend for free with proof of age and address.

Kenyon Woods Middle School

On Thursday, band students from Clinton, Fox Meadow, Garfield, Liberty, Nature Ridge, Wayne and Willard elementary schools will present a band concert at 7 p.m. in the KWMS gym.

Bartlett Elementary

Monday through Friday, a Book Fair will be held at the school during school hours. Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. the Book Fair will be open to families.

Also on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. the annual Science Fair will be held at the school.

Centennial Elementary

On Thursday, Santa's Workshop & Book Fair will be held in the Learning Center from 6-8 p.m.

Century Oaks Elementary

On Thursday, students in grades 1-3 will present a concert at Larkin High School at 6:30 p.m.

Fox Meadow Elementary

On Tuesday, the Parent/Community Engagement Committee will meet at 6 p.m. at the school.

Harriet Gifford Elementary

On Monday, students will participate in a variety of activities throughout the day, to celebrate a successful month of PBIS at their school.

Laurel Hill Elementary

On Tuesday, the “Crossroads” after school kid's club will meet from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the school. This is for students in grades 3-6 only.

On Wednesday, Hanover Township will hold an Open Gym at the school from 2-6 p.m.

On Friday from 8:00-9:30 a.m., the Parents As Teachers group “Moms & Tots” will meet in the gym. Pre-school aged children come to have fun and learn in a structured play group. It will also be held December 9th and 16th.

Liberty Elementary

On Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Liberty parents are invited to attend a workshop titled “Reading is Thinking: Helping Your Child Become a Strategic Reader.” Classroom teacher Ginger Weincek will conduct this presentation of reading strategies in the school cafeteria.

Lincoln Elementary

On Thursday, the school will present a Latin Dance Festival from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the gym. Families will enjoy Latin food, festivities and cultural dancing.

Lords Park Elementary

On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., students in grades 4-6 will present their Winter Sing at Elgin High School in the auditorium.

On Friday from 4-7 p.m., parents and teachers are sponsoring a Kermes (dinner celebration) in the cafeteria. A variety of food will be available for purchase. Santa will be the special guest, along with Dr. Schleff, principal and accomplished pianist. Holiday songs will be sung by the Lords Park Choir. Lords Park families can have their pictures taken with Santa.

Timber Trails Elementary

On Friday, Donuts with Dads will be held from 7:30-8:15 a.m. in the school gym. Fathers, uncles and grandfathers can enjoy a donut, bagel, fruit and beverage with their child(ren) before school. All food is donated by Tony's Finer Foods, Elgin Fresh Market, Panera Bread and Einstein Brothers Bagels.
