Stevenson nets victory No. 10

Stevenson got its tenth girls volleyball win of the season with a 25-12, 25-20 sweep over Buffalo Grove in nonconference play Monday.

The Patriots (10-4) were led by Liza Pflugradt, who rolled up 4 kills and 8 digs. Mackenzie Kurth also had 8 digs and Anne Geocaris and Jenna Radtke each added 3 kills for Stevenson.

Setters Jamie Baranowski and Hannah Kay finished with 8 assists apiece for the Patriots.

Lakes d. Grayslake North: Emily Aigner tallied a game-high 11 kills and setter Rachel Sieracke had 14 assists to lead Lakes to a 25-20, 27-25 sweep of Grayslake North. The win moves the Eagles to 10-4 on the season. Grayslake North, meanwhile, got 3 kills apiece out of Katie McGrath, Kelsey Klausner and Alaina Geissberger. McGrath also had 10 digs and setter Lisa Lowry had 11 assists. The Knights drop to 5-11 on the season.

Zion-Benton d. Antioch: Antioch started strong but didn’t finish that way in a 25-13, 23-25, 17-25 loss to Zion-Benton. The Sequoits, who fall to 7-6 overall, got 5 kills out of both Elena Kelsh and Abbi McIlhany, 8 digs out of Kelsey Schreiber and 19 assists and 3 aces out of Marissa Grant.

St. Viator d. Warren: Warren suffered a sweep at the hands of St. Viator, 13-25, 21-25. Paige Jespersen had 9 digs for the Blue Devils while Allie Goad added 3 kills and Rachel Ziegler and Libby Perone each had 7 assists.
