Marquardt, Miller pace Stevenson win

Nikki Marquardt and Stephanie Miller each fired a 1-under-par 35 to share medalist honors and lead Stevenson to a girls golf victory over Carmel Catholic on Countryside Golf Club’s Prairie course Tuesday.

Stevenson’s 154 was also the result of Mary Beth Popielewski’s 37 and Molly Cizek’s 47.

Carmel (179) was paced by Jessica Trunzo’s 43 and Nicolette Paulis’ 44.

Mundelein d. Vernon Hills: At Vernon Hills Golf Course, the visiting Mustangs shot a 198 to edge the Cougars (201), who boasted medalist Lauren Groody (41).

Holly Gotlund was Mundelein’s only golfer to break 50, as she carded a 44.
