Guests at this year's Schaumburg Township Disability Services Luau picnic participated in nature and science exploration activities by Brookfield Zoo, provided by State Representatives Fred Crespo and Michelle Mussman.

Guests also enjoyed entertainment by DJ Eric Brandt, The Chicago Slaughter mascot "Sarge," a clown and magicians Saturday, Aug. 6.

The picnic was co-sponsored by Illinois Telecommunications Access Corporation, Bank of America, The Schaumburg Township Human Services Fund, Village Tavern and Grill and The Schaumburg-Hoffman Lions Club.

Guests lunched on chicken fingers from Village Tavern & Grill, hot dogs and potato salad donated by Tasty Catering. Frozen custard desserts were provided by Culver's of Schaumburg. Bingo was the highlight of the picnic, with a chance to win a prize donated by local businesses.

Volunteers and SWAP personnel turned out in great numbers to help, and the picnic tables and trash cans were provided by the Schaumburg Park District.
