&bul; Thieves stole the BMW emblem off a 1999 BMW 325i on the 1400 block of East Davis Street between 3 p.m. Nov. 26 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30. Value was estimated at $200.
&bul; Thieves stole a black mountain bike with baby seat from the rear patio at an apartment on the 600 block of West Central Road between 8 a.m. Nov. 30 and 6 p.m. Dec. 1. Value was estimated at $250.
Buffalo Grove
&bul; Danielle Alana Zalusky, 18, of the 1200 block of Schaeffer Road, Hawthorn Woods, was arrested around 4:10 a.m. Nov. 21 on Dundee Road at Old Buffalo Grove Road and charged with traffic violations and possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
&bul; Dmitry Andre Pisarev, 23, of the 1300 block of Newport Street, Mundelein, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. Nov. 23 on Villa Verde Drive and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
&bul; David William Drake, 20, of the 0-100 block of Cedar Lane, Lincolnshire, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Nov. 25 on Buffalo Grove Road at St. Mary’s Parkway and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor, resisting/obstructing a police officer, disobeying a police officer, unlawful use of a weapon, and traffic violations.
&bul; Alfredo Castrejon-Orozco, 28, of the 700 block of Buffalo Grove Road, Wheeling, was arrested around 4 a.m. Nov. 23 on McHenry Road at Lake-Cook Road and charged with illegal transportation of open liquor, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an injury accident, and no valid driver’s license.
&bul; Michael S. Arendt, 51, of the 100 block of Seneca Street, Elgin, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 29 on Lake-Cook Road at Weidner Road and charged with illegal transportation of open liquor and traffic violations.
&bul; John Douglas Hamlin, age undisclosed, of the 0-100 block of Gant Circle, Streamwood, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. Dec. 1 in a parking lot at 1055 Johnson Drive and charged with possession of a controlled substance (heroin).
&bul; Vandals scratched both driver’s-side doors on a vehicle belonging to Top Driver, 1151 N. McHenry Road, between Nov. 19 and 21.
&bul; Thieves stole a snowplow valued at $4,000 chained to the Twin Rinks Ice Pavilion, 1500 Abbott Court, around 1 a.m. Nov. 19.
&bul; A woman stole merchandise from Dominick’s, 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road, around 7 p.m. Nov. 20 but dropped the items in the parking lot and fled in a vehicle after confronted by a store employee.
&bul; Vandals broke the passenger’s-side mirror on a 2008 Honda CR-V on the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive between 10 p.m. Nov. 23 and 9:10 a.m. Nov. 24.
&bul; Vandals set fire to a wooden molding and scorched the wallpaper in a hallway in an apartment building on the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Drive between Nov. 24 and 29.
&bul; Vandals spray painted graffiti on an outer wall at the park district’s Spray and Play, 951 McHenry Road, between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
&bul; A vandal drew a gang sign on a wall of the bonding room at the police department, 46 Raupp Blvd., between Nov. 7 and Dec. 1. The wall had to be repainted.
&bul; Thieves stole four bicycles out of the common storage area in an underground apartment garage on the 700 block of Weidner Road between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
&bul; Burglars entered a home on the 200 block of Taylor Court between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 1 and stole an iTouch, two laptop computers, jar of change, and 15 video games.
Des Plaines
&bul; Ahmed A. Syed, 35, of the 2300 block of West Birchwood, Chicago, was arrested around 6:20 p.m. Nov. 17 at the gas station at 1530 E. Rand Road; Umeshkumar Patel, age unavailable, of the 2100 block of South Chestnut Street, Des Plaines, was arrested around 11:50 a.m. Nov. 24 at the gas station at 2380 S. River Road. Both were charged with city ordinance unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor during tobacco compliance checks.
&bul; Peter J. Herzmann, 20, of the 100 block of Tanglewood Drive, Elk Grove Village, was arrested around 12:45 a.m. Nov. 25 on the 800 block of West Golf Road and charged with a traffic violation and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His court date is Jan. 7.
&bul; Burglars pried a window on the attached garage at a home on the 900 block of North Golf cul-de-sac between 6:45 and 8 p.m. Nov. 29, entered the home, ransacked two bedrooms and stole several pieces of gold and diamond jewelry and watches, video-game system, and a passport. Value was estimated at $10,000.
&bul; Thieves stole a gold diamond and ruby ring and a gold birthstone ring with peridot, sapphire, opal and citrine gems out of a home on the 800 block of East Leahy Circle between June 20 and July 10 but reported Dec. 1. The female victim was moving to a new home and there were many people around at the time. Other jewelry was not taken. Value was estimated at $5,050.
&bul; Vandals sprayed red paint on the windows, sides and rear license plate on a white 1999 Isuzu box truck in a business lot at 380 E. Northwest Hwy. between 9:30 p.m. Nov. 30 and 4:56 p.m. Dec. 1.
&bul; Burglars stole an iPod and driver’s license out of an unlocked 1986 Chrysler New Yorker and rifled through a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro belonging to the same owner and parked on the street on the 700 block of South Fifth Avenue between noon Nov. 28 and 9 a.m. Nov. 30. Value was estimated at $250.
&bul; Burglars stole two red plastic cases with “Lica” written on them and containing 10 camcorder batteries out of the bed of a 2006 GMC pickup truck on the 1800 block of Wicke between 1:15 and 2 p.m. Dec. 1. Value was estimated at $300.
&bul; Vandals broke the outer pane of a double-pane window at Philips Testing, 200 E. Howard, around 3 a.m. Dec. 1. Damage was estimated at $800.
Elk Grove Village
&bul; Burglars entered Yeaman Machine Technology, 2150 Touhy Ave., through a warehouse door and stole a toolbox on wheels containing several hand tools around 1 a.m. Nov. 12. Value was estimated at $10,000. Burglars also stole a welder, laser level, saws, five tires and a toolbox with hand tools from Green Facade Systems of Chicago at the same address and during the same time. Value was estimated at $5,200.
&bul; Thieves stole a 2007 Volvo semi-tractor from a lot at Focus Transportation, 2195 Arthur Ave., between 4 p.m. Nov. 14 and 8 a.m. Nov. 15. Value was estimated at $37,000.
&bul; Burglars stole a GPS unit, MP3 player, sunglasses, and loose change out of an unlocked 2010 Dodge Avenger on the 800 block of Ridge Avenue between 11 p.m. Nov. 11 and 7 a.m. Nov. 12. Value was estimated at $567.
&bul; Burglars stole a black duffel bag with cell phone and GPS unit out of an unlocked 1990 Dodge Dynasty on the 200 block of Clearmont between 8 p.m. Nov. 11 and 3:30 a.m. Nov. 12. Value was estimated at $400.
&bul; Burglars stole an iPod, laptop computer and GPS unit out of a 2002 Jeep Liberty on the 200 block of Brookhaven Drive between 11 p.m. Nov. 11 and 6 a.m. Nov. 12. Value was estimated at $650.
&bul; Dimitar A. Andreev, 34, of the 8700 block of Summerdale Lane, Chicago, and Miroslava K. Boykov, 38, of the 10100 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, Schiller Park, were arrested around 2:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at 1802 Elmhurst Road and charged with making a false accident report/providing false information. Their court date is Dec. 16.
&bul; Burglars broke into a 2005 Ford van at CB Kramer Sales and Service, 502 Crossen Ave., between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 16 and stole a drill set and toolbox. Loss was estimated at $1,600.
Mount Prospect
&bul; Victor Hugo Franco, 28, of the 300 block of East Golf Road, Des Plaines, was arrested around 2 p.m. Nov. 29 on the 1100 block of South Elmhurst Road and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His court date is Dec. 21.
&bul; A vandal was videotaped pulling on a parkway tree on the 600 block of South Emerson Street around 1:20 a.m. Nov. 27. He fell to the ground when the trunk snapped in two. He got up and walk away. Damage was estimated at $200.
&bul; Thieves stole a 14-carat white gold ring and a 10-carat Lord of The Rings gold ring out of an office closet at a home on the 1100 block of Crabtree Lane between Oct. 31 and Nov. 29. Value was estimated at $890.
Palatine
&bul; Andrew M. Banks, 20, of the 3900 block of Wood Creek Drive, Island Lake, was arrested around 10:40 a.m. Nov. 21 at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road, and charged with retail theft. The report said he took a Lego set valued at $109 off a shelf and fraudulently returned it for cash at a customer service counter. He presented his driver’s license to receive the money and officers used the information on the license to track him down. According to the report, he had stolen merchandise the same way at other Walmarts and there was an alert out for him.
&bul; Thieves stole a snowplow valued at $4,500 from a vacant lot on the 700 block of West Anthony Drive between Nov. 26 and Dec. 1.
&bul; Burglars stole an electric dictionary and GPS unit out of an unlocked 1997 Jeep Cherokee on the 800 block of West St. John’s Place between 6 p.m. Nov. 29 and 5 a.m. Nov. 30. Value was estimated at $500.
&bul; Burglars broke into a 2008 Chevrolet Express van on the 1400 block of North Winslowe Drive between 10 p.m. Nov. 27 and noon Nov. 29 and stole a GPS with cord and mount. Value was estimated at $100.
Streamwood
&bul; Justin J. Mayer, 30, on the 100 block of Sycamore Avenue, Streamwood, was arrested around 6:40 p.m. Nov. 18 at BP gas station, 1236 Irving Park Road, and charged with sale of tobacco to a minor during a police tobacco sales check. His court date is Dec. 7.
&bul; Jesus Ortiz, 19, of the 800 block of Flowers Avenue, Streamwood, was arrested around 1:10 a.m. Nov. 11 at his home and charged with felonies manufacture/delivery and possession of marijuana 30-500 grams and illegal possession of ammunition without a firearm owners ID card. Reports said officers found approximately 100 grams of marijuana in Ortiz’s jacket pocket and five 45-caliber bullets in his car and hidden at his parents’ home in Hillside.
&bul; Vandals kicked a door, shattering the glass, at Streamwood High School, 701 W. Schaumburg Road, between 11 p.m. Nov. 17 and 4:30 a.m. Nov. 18. Damage was estimated over $300.
&bul; Thieves stole a white 1997 Acura Integra in an apartment lot on the 4000 block of Princeton Court between 12:20 and 1:20 a.m. Nov. 18.
&bul; Thieves stole a white 1999 Acura Integra with a black hood, bronze rims, and “Honda Team Integra” stickers on each rear side window, between 10:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 18 in a driveway on the 500 block of Hillside Drive.
&bul; Burglars stole a purse out of the trunk of a 1999 Chrysler Sebring at Hanover Countryside School, 6 S. Bartlett Road, between 10:55 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 17. Value was estimated over $100.
