Best qualified, most compassionate

I am writing to you today because I believe it would be an absolute disservice to the community if State Rep. Sandra Pihos were not re-elected. I have been her legislative intern for the past three years, and I cannot say enough good things about her dedication to her community, her heart and her commitment to helping the citizens of DuPage County.

When I first began working for Representative Pihos, I expected the stereotypical politician: someone who went home at 5 p.m. and delegated most of the work to her staff. This could not be farther from the truth. Representative Pihos was at the office before all of us and left hours after her hard working staff had gone home for the day. Constituents are constantly surprised when she answers her own office phone or personally returns calls. She is a tireless worker and an enthusiastic advocate with more energy, drive and dedication than anyone I have ever met.

Representative Pihos is also an incredibly compassionate and caring woman. I have been able to help her make a difference for those she serves. I have worked with Representative Pihos to extend health insurance coverage for hearing aids, secure better living conditions for low income families, and restore budget cuts to human services. It is inspiring to be able to see your work make a difference. She sponsors a summer reading program and has also founded Michael's Place Literacy Center.

After all the positive things I have seen Representative Pihos accomplish throughout the years I have worked in her office, I truly believe that there is no one more qualified and passionate to represent the 42nd House District than Representative Pihos. I hope you will all join me in supporting her on Election Day.
