No. 1 goal: Fix state budget crisis

Sandy Pihos is serving as state representative, 42nd District, and has provided outstanding public service to constituents in Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Downers Grove, Lisle and all parts of the nine communities she serves.

While serving on the board of B. R. Ryall YMCA and the development committee of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society, I have had the opportunity to note the high level of responsiveness and assistance she has provided to our nonprofit organizations. Recently, she has joined community leaders in the YMCA of the USA's Statewide Pioneering Healthier Communities initiative, which will address the childhood obesity epidemic through changes in policy, systems and environment that will sustain positive and lasting change for healthy living. She has been a strong supporter of the History Park at historic Stacy's Corners being developed by the Glen Ellyn Historical Society.

In Springfield, Sandy's No. 1 goal will be resolving the state's budget crisis, which can only happen over time. She will be working to bring back and grow business in Illinois, create jobs, restore education and social service funding, bring efficiencies, accountability and transparency to state government, reform ethics and restore trust in state government.

Her dedication and past experience as our state representative will be invaluable in meeting the challenges cited above and the current economy. I urge the voters in District 42 to vote on Nov. 2 and re-elect Sandy Pihos as our state representative.
