The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography program at College of DuPage is seeking pregnant volunteers to participate in free afternoon scanning sessions this summer. Volunteer appointments are available at 3:30 and 4 p.m. on Mondays, June 27, July 11 and July 18. Three openings are available for each time period, and volunteers can be in any stage of pregnancy.

The McHenry County Regional Planning Commission will conduct an open house meeting on McHenry County 2030 And Beyond on June 21. The event will provide the public with an opportunity to review and provide comments on the commission's recommendations for updating the McHenry County 2030 Comprehensive Plan.

The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans will hold its 11th annual golf outing and Texas BBQ fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 28 at Klein Creek Golf Club in Winfield. Eighteen holes of golf, in a team scramble format, begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. A complete Texas BBQ buffet dinner follows golf at 6 p.m.

Student-Run Waterleaf Dining Room, Culinary Market to Open in June for Summer

The student-run Waterleaf Dining Room and Culinary Market at College of DuPage will both open for summer term on Tuesday, June 14. Students in the International Cuisine class take guests on a gastronomic tour of the world with recipes celebrating the seasons and using the freshest ingredients. Lunches start at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, June 14 (Tuscany), June 21 (Provence), June 28 (Greece), July 12 (Argentina) and July 19 (Thailand). The menus can be viewed here, and the cost is $20, which includes tax. Wines are available by the glass.
College of DuPage Offers New Fund Development in Human Services Certificate

The new Fund Development in Human Services certificate program at College of DuPage will provide students with the skills needed to pursue a successful career in fundraising. Recently approved by the Illinois Community College Board, the certificate will prepare students to work as fundraising assistants for human services programs, related career fields, non-profit organizations, advocates and providers. Coursework includes fundraising theory, history, strategy, implementation and practice.
