Help fill the trailer for Hanover Township's Drive Through Toy Drive

Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 16, for Hanover Township Supervisor Brian McGuire's Super Toy Collection.

Residents can drive through the township's Emergency Services Station at 300 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett to have their vehicles unloaded. Collected items will be distributed to local families as part of the township's holiday programs.

"Compared to last year, we are currently experiencing a 17% increase in the number of families who have registered for our annual toy drive and sponsor-a-family programs," said Brian McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. "Whether it's one game or puzzle, a basketball or complete set of action figures, donations of all sizes are truly appreciated."

Applications are still open for families to register for the township's holiday programs. Residents can visit www.hanover-township.org to apply or visit the township's Astor Avenue Community Center to fill out the form in person.

Individuals wishing to donate but unable to attend the event can drop items off at any township office or at one of the 14 toy collection boxes around the community.

Residents can also make a financial contribution to the Hanover Township Foundation to support the holiday programs by visiting the township website, www.hanover-township.org.
