Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners host holiday potluck Dec. 19

The Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners will hold annual holiday potluck and White Elephant gift exchange on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

They will be discussing the club's future, voting on the recently drafted mission statement, and electing leaders to fill the officer roles from January 2024 until May 2025.

This is a special election, necessitated by the recent passing of Diana Sharp. Her legacy will live on with the club as the 2024 garden walk, “For the Love of Gardens,” is dedicated in her honor.

If you are interested in filling one of the open roles (president or vice president), contact Doris Trout, interim president, at olgctrout@gmail.com.

All paid members (and members who join on Dec. 19) are welcome to seek a more engaged role.

The meeting also will be a time to laugh and enjoy the holidays over a potluck and a gift exchange. Bring a dish to share, and a white elephant gift. Remember to wrap the gift, so it will be a surprise to the lucky recipient.

The meeting will begin with a social time and set-up at 6:45 p.m. and business meeting and potluck at 7 p.m. at the Batavia Public Library, 10 N. Batavia Ave. (Route 31).
