Friends' Nov. 18 Mt. Prospect Public Library Holiday Book Sale Features Special Gift Items For Shoppers
In addition to a ton of great books on all topics, shoppers at the much anticipated Friends of Mt. Prospect Public Library Holiday Book sale set for Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. will find 1000 plus children's gift books, dozens of sealed cut and assemble books, and 800 plus sealed- still in the shrink wrap- DVDs and Blue-Rays including single movies, movie collections, TV series seasons and holiday movies.
A limited number of sealed books, specially packaged Great Books, books on CD, puzzles and games are also part of the holiday sale. The library is at 10 S. Emerson St., Mt. Prospect. Admission and parking are free. The Holiday Book Sale will be held only in Meeting Room A on the first floor of the library.
"All items have been specially selected for this sale, so one can find the right gift for all adults, teens and children on your holiday gift list," Friends of the Mt. Prospect Public Library President Pat Klawitter said. "We cannot thank our community enough for these amazing donations. There are so many treasures that not only please shoppers but go towards helping the local library and community. We all appreciate this."
Shoppers at the October 21-22 Friends Library Book sale found many treasures. Friends' officials say not only was there a line of about 100 people waiting to get in that first day, but the garage twenty-five cent area with about 50 tables full was almost empty at the end of the sale, and the 400 plus Sci-Fi/Fantasy paperbacks were gone in 20 minutes after the sale opened.
"Our book sales continue to increase with the support of our community and of course those that donate incredible collections," Klawitter said. "It is a fun time and people get an opportunity to see a wide variety of books, CDs, DVDs and discover a new author, learn key business insights, find a classic novel, learn about historical events, aviation, a sports hero, Scooby Doo or something very different."
Klawitter said proceeds from all Friends, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, book sales support library programs, patron services, and staff initiatives. Friends' volunteers are dedicated to the community and library, donating their time to provide the book sales. The Friends always welcome new volunteers.
