Advocate Good Shepherd named top 100 hospital in nation
Recognized for delivering exceptional patient care, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital was recognized among the Top 100 Hospitals in the nation by PINC AI (formerly IMB Watson). Based on objective, quantitative analysis of publicly available data, winning hospitals deliver better outcomes while operating more efficiently and at a lower cost.
"We're proud to serve our community, providing best-in-class care with compassion and dedication," said Karen Lambert, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital president. "Being named one of the best hospitals in the country again is a testament to our teammates' considerable skill, hard work and ability to be difference-makers in the lives of our patients, visitors and neighbors each day."
Advocate Good Shepherd is one of only six hospitals in Illinois to be named to the Top 100 Hospitals list this year. This is the second time the hospital has earned this recognition, previously in 2022.
"As hospitals continue to share the nation's focus on changing health care for the better, hospitals and health systems are recognizing the importance of identifying areas within their walls for quality improvement," said Leigh Anderson, Premier's chief operating officer and the leader of PINC AI. "The transparent and non-biased measures this study provides, helps leaders make informed decisions for change, and proves that Advocate Good Shepherd excels across a range of core performance indicators, which can directly lead to significantly higher quality patient outcomes, with fewer readmissions and complications."
Hospitals performance is analyzed in the categories of clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience, and financial stability. The program leverages transparent, non-biased data to help inform strategies for sustained performance. Organizations do not apply to participate in the study, and award winners do not pay to market their honor.
