Hawthorn District 73 leaders elected to Ed-Red Executive board

Hawthorn School District 73 is excited to announce that Superintendent Dr. Peter Hannigan and Board of Education member Joel Finfer have been selected to join the Executive Board of Ed-Red, the essential voice advocating for the diverse needs of suburban public schools in Cook, Lake and McHenry Counties.

Dr. Hannigan will serve as an Executive Board Member, reinforcing the presence and influence of District 73 in educational decision-making at a broader level. Furthermore, it gives us immense pride to share that our very own Board Member, Joel Finfer, has been elected Chairman of Ed-Red.

Established in the fall of 1971, Ed-Red began as a collaborative endeavor by seven north suburban high school districts. Since then, it has grown to include a wide array of educational entities, including 13 high school districts, 64 elementary school districts, 2 unit districts, 2 Special Education Cooperatives, and 3 Intermediate Service Centers.

Ed-Red's mission is a perfect fit with the values upheld by Hawthorn District 73, making these appointments not only an honor but a valuable opportunity to further enhance our district's commitment to the diverse needs of our students.

We are thrilled for Dr. Hannigan and Mr. Finfer, and are confident their leadership and expertise will provide a significant contribution to the work of Ed-Red, embodying the visionary leadership that Hawthorn District 73 strives for. Please join us in congratulating them on their significant accomplishments.
