The Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary has been raising fund for clean water for eight years to underserved communities in the United States and worldwide.
Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life. When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families. It is the most basic need for human survival and helps people escape the poverty where they live.
The Chicago area is fortunate to have Lake Michigan provide its clean water. Not everyone is privileged to have a large fresh water clean lake in their area. By helping other communities with clean water, Rotary spreads good will throughout the U.S. and world.
