Hanover Township Summer Tutoring kicks off on June 5

The Hanover Township Summer Tutoring Program will run June 5 through Aug. 7 at the Town Hall, 250 S. Route 59, in Bartlett.

Board certified teachers will provide weekly, one-hour sessions for three students per group from 5 to 8 p.m. This program is offered to youth in grades two-eight. The registration fee is $45 per student.

"Last year, 334 students participated in the township's tutoring program," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. "I would encourage parents that have any concerns about their child's academic performance or summer learning loss, to contact the township and register for the summer tutoring program."

Tutoring groups are developed based on age, subject matter and learning needs that are identified by referring teachers. Children who participate regularly and bring their school materials/assignments to each session improve in academic performance and become more self-confident.
