Families Invited to HEParks Full-Day Childcare Open House

Preschool families can learn about the Hoffman Estates Park District (HEParks) full-day Little Stars Childcare program during an open house Saturday, May 20, from 9:00-10:00 AM at the Triphahn Center, 1685 W, Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates. During the open house, visitors will tour the classrooms, meet the park district's skilled teaching staff, and learn about the program's philosophy and curriculum.

The Little Stars Childcare program at the Triphahn Center is a full-day preschool/childcare program open year-round from 7 AM-6 PM for children 3-5 years old.

The district uses The Creative Curriculum, which focuses on learning through hands-on activities and experimentation. Activities such as music, movement, dramatic play, science and open-ended art projects help cultivate children's imaginations and give them the confidence to express themselves. Group activities encourage socialization and teach valuable lessons in sharing and being part of a community. Daily outdoor or gym time helps children develop their large motor skills. Fine motor skills are developed through tabletop activities like puzzles, cutting and painting, which fosters imagination and cognitive development.

HEParks is also accepting part-day preschool students for the 2023-2024 school year. The district offers a DCFS licensed part-day preschool for 3-4-year-old students within the Triphahn Center and Willow Recreation Center. Preschool options include two, three and five-day plans. Children must be three years old by September 1, 2023, to enroll in the program. There are pre-preschool options available for children born after September 1.
