The World Stuttering Network Stutterfest 2023 and Free Video

Speech and language commmunication center owner and director, Kristin Chmela, a world recognized, board certified specialist in stuttering, released a free video, "Kids Who Stutter Support Teachers: Branch Out." You can watch the video at www.chmelacommunicationcenter.com/advocacy-guide

"I am thrilled to be able to provide teachers with a tool they can use to help students who stutter," Chemela said. The video is featured on her website (www.chmelacommunicationcenter.com) and has over 2,000 views in just two months.

It is worth celebrating as part of National Stuttering Awareness Week starting Saturday, May 8. Chmela will be one of several recognized presenters at the World Stuttering Network Stutterfest 2023 twenty-four hour conference. The conference is free and accessible across the world at: www.worldstutteringnetwork.net/stutterfest-program-of-events

"I am honored to be selected to present at this vitally important conference which brings support group organizations, researchers, professionals and people who stutter across the world," Chemela said.

The 2023 National Stuttering Awareness Week takes place between May 9 and May 15. The week is an observance in the United States for people who stutter. It helps people who stutter to raise awareness and educate others on misconceptions about stuttering. Many hospitals, medical institutions and speech organizations hold special events to help people who stutter to communicate without fear. One in every 25 children in the U.S. stutters.
