Libertyville Sunrise Rotary recognizes foundation donors

Libertyville Sunrise Rotary, a thriving local chapter chartered in 1987, recently recognized members who have made significant contributions over time to the Rotary International Foundation.

The club extends congratulations to Level 2 Major Donor Dr. David Potts of Lake County Family Dental Care and new Major Donor Tom Zengeler of Zengeler Cleaners.

Contributions to the Rotary International Foundation are essential to securing and growing Rotary programs throughout the world. The foundation recognizes donors to express gratitude for their ongoing commitment.

A Level 2 Major Donor has made lifetime contributions of $25,000 or more, while Major Donors have contributed $10,000 or more to the foundation. More than 25% of Libertyville Sunrise Rotary members are Major Donors, while 70% are Paul Harris Fellows, members who've contributed at least $1,000 each.

Dr. David Potts and Tom Zengeler were recognized by District 6440 executives, including District Governor Elect Mary Bak, Governor Nominee Thor Davidson, District Governor Nominee Designate Marlene Frisbee, District Major Donor Chair Donna Lee Gulley and District Governor Bill Kmiecik.

In addition, Paul Harris Society Members Patricia Bleck and Jim Curtis were recognized for their additional gifts to the Rotary Foundation.

Prior to joining LSR, Dr. David Potts was a member of the Libertyville Noon Rotary Club. Tom Zengeler is an LSR Charter member and has had perfect attendance since joining, having learned the value of Rotary Service from his father, Robert Zengeler, a charter member of the Libertyville Noon Club and a Rotarian for over 50 years before his passing in 2019.

Since its inception in 1987, Libertyville Sunrise Rotary has donated millions of dollars to both local and international charities. Examples include literacy and scholarship programs; programs to combat hunger, homelessness, domestic violence and the eradication of polio; and programs to support local food banks, charities and scholarships.
