Orders due by March 1 for Wheaton Garden Club plant sale

What better way to spend a cold February day than to look at flowers and dream of summer gardens. Well, it's that time again!

The Wheaton Garden Club's annual plant sale has begun.

The club's website, wheatongardenclub.org, is open and ready for your orders, which are due by Wednesday, March 1.

The plant pickup date is Saturday, May 20.

The sale features professionally grown annuals, many of which are Proven Winners.

Hundreds of offerings include hanging baskets, individual pots of various sizes, and flats. Summer favorites available for purchase include a wide variety of geraniums, begonias, coleus and petunias. Specialty items include caladiums, papyrus and ornamental grasses.

Proceeds support area community organizations and scholarships for College of DuPage horticulture, environmental studies or botany and biology students.

Organizations supported include the Cosley Zoo Foundation, Illinois Prairie Path and Willowbrook Wildlife Center.
