This 14-week Illinois Works pre-apprenticeship program prepares participants to successfully transition to an apprenticeship program, on their way to careers in the construction and building trades and other employment opportunities.

One program will be offered in Aurora for residents of the western suburbs and another program will be offered in Grayslake for residents of the northern suburbs of Illinois.

Women, people of color, and veterans are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high School diploma or GED, reside in Illinois, have a driver's license, and have interest in a career in the construction and building trades.

This program is offered by St. Augustine College's Institute for Workforce Education (IWE), with funding from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Illinois Works Office.

This is a 14-week program (three days per week - four hours per day).

Training will be offered at St. Augustine College's Aurora location at 841 S. Lake St., or University Center of Lake County at 1200 University Center Drive, Grayslake.
