Sinfonietta Bel Canto joins with church choir for Jan. 29 concert

On Sunday, Jan. 29, the Sinfonietta Bel Canto Chamber Orchestra & Opera welcomes musicians from St. Paul United Church of Christ in Downers Grove, including the choir and music director Debra Miller on piano.

The concert begins at 3 p.m. at St Paul's UCC, 5739 Dunham Road in Downers Grove.

Tickets are $22, $20 for seniors or $7 for students and are available via sinfoniettabelcanto.org/wordpress/tickets/.

The repertoire for concert will include:

• The first "Allegro con brio" movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, op. 37 with Debra Miller on piano;

• Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria Jungfrau Mild," op. 52, No. 6, with soprano Carol Clifford.

• J.S. Bach's Cantata 140 "Wachet Auf/Sleepers, Awake" by the St. Paul's Choir and soloists.

• August Klughardt's Symphony No. 3 in D Major, op. 37 (1879).

The Sinfonietta Bel Canto's mission is to bring beautiful and enjoyable classical works to communities of all ages, backgrounds, cultures and locations. It is led by music/artistic director and conductor Dan Pasquale D'Andrea.
