Chicago Rock Legend Jason Narducy Returns to Hey Nonny on Feb. 9
On February 9, Jason Narducy is returning to Hey Nonny, the vibrant music venue and bistro in downtown Arlington Heights. This Chicago rock legend will play some of his best-known songs accompanied by a three-person string section.
Narducy leads the Chicago band Split Single and regularly tours with Bob Mould of Hüsker Dü fame. Jason also plays with the band Superchunk and is a friend of Dave Grohl, appearing in Grohl's "Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways" TV series. Narducy writes and produces short comedy episodes including, "The Sexiest Elbows in Rock Music," which feature Fred Armisen, Michael Shannon, Jeff Tweedy, Todd Barry, Margaret Cho, Tim Meadows, Dave Hill, and many more.
"Jason's a really great songwriter and stage performer," said Hey Nonny co-owner Chip Brooks. "He and Dag Juhlin team up every year to host a Pete Townshend birthday show on May 19, and it's always a good time. I saw him perform with his string section recently and it was an incredible show. They've put together some very cool arrangements where the strings are an integral part of the performance."
On February 9, Narducy will be joined by cellist Melissa Bach and violinists Katie Klocke and Dominic Johnson. Together they will perform songs from Split Single and Verböten, Narducy's musical, as well as a few fun cover songs.
"Hey Nonny is one of my favorite Chicago area clubs," claimed Narducy. "I was thrilled when they showed an interest in presenting this show. I'm glad to present a show with these excellent musicians. The cello and two violins add a warmth and depth to these songs, and I'm looking forward to playing again in Arlington Heights."
