Gardner School of Lincolnshire earns top accreditation

The Gardner School of Lincolnshire has earned accreditation for excellence in early childhood education from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the nation's largest preschool advocacy organization.

The recent announcement marks The Gardner School's fifth NAEYC-accredited campus in the Chicago area, including its locations in Northbrook, Oak Brook, Schaumburg and West Loop.

Over the past 30 years, NAEYC accreditation has signified quality education. Fewer than 10 percent of all child care centers nationwide achieve accreditation, which requires a rigorous, multiyear assessment involving teachers, administrators, and enrolled families.

"As an accredited school, we're demonstrating our commitment to exceptional education and child care," said Sarah Smith, executive director of The Gardner School of Lincolnshire. "I'm grateful for our dedicated teachers and for every opportunity to earn the trust and confidence of families in our community."

Accredited schools must meet 10 stringent standards and hundreds of corresponding criteria for high-quality education, including a healthy environment for children, well-trained teachers, and a goal-oriented curriculum that addresses all aspects of child development.

All accredited programs are subject to random, unannounced visits by assessors to ensure that schools are continuing to meet or exceed NAEYC standards.

Located at 250 Barclay Boulevard, just south of Half Day Road, The Gardner School of Lincolnshire serves students ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Preschool teachers lead academically focused programs and on-site enrichment classes to promote students' social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
