Join Anderson Humane's Walk4Animals Oct. 23 in Campton Hills

Bring your family, friends, and canine companions to a nature walk benefiting Anderson Humane on Sunday, Oct. 23, in Campton Hills.

Lace up your walking shoes and raise funds at the seventh annual Walk4Animals will begin at 9 a.m. at Gray Willows Farm, 5N949 Corron Road.

Registration and donation drop-off begins at 9 a.m. with the walk at 9:30 a.m.

Your participation - in person or virtually - supports the animal welfare organization's work to find homes for 4,000 pets and provide care for 3,000 injured and orphaned wild animals every year.

In addition to the 1.25-mile walk through tranquil Gray Willows Farm, come enjoy wagon rides, food trucks, an after party, and animal appearances by Wings & Talons.

It's fun for the whole family, including the canine members, and all for a great cause!

Cost is $25 for age 13 or older or $10 for kids, age 3 to 12.

The minimum suggested fundraising goal for a team of 2 to 5 people is $500.

Not attending in person? Walk from your neighborhood, treadmill, or trail of your choosing. You can join/create a team even if you can't make it to the event.

Walk Day has more than just in-person activities. Check out the sponsors on the Virtual Vendor Village or raise much needed funds for Anderson Humane.

The top fundraising team can earn a visit with Anderson Humane's Ambassador animals Chief and Blossom. These mini horses are a favorite with friends and supporters.

The individual that raises the most money will enjoy a special view of Anderson Humane and its mission. They will join the shelter team and volunteers as they welcome a transport team to the main shelter in South Elgin. And see firsthand how transported animals go through the intake process and what happens when they arrive at the shelter.

It also will include registration for two children at the 2023 Summer Critter Camp, and a family of four can enjoy tickets to six nature hikes offered by Anderson Humane between Nov. 1 through October 2023.

Each individual raising $5,000 will receive a voucher for one complimentary dental cleaning at the Anderson Humane Vet Clinic. Extractions are not included. It is valid only for scheduled appointment between Nov. 1, 2022 through Oct. 31, 2023.

Each individual that raises $1,000 or more will receive a coupon for a complimentary home inspection from Anderson Humane Wildlife Allies.

When you raise $500 as an individual, you'll receive a voucher for one complimentary vaccine at the Anderson Humane vet clinic in South Elgin.

In addition, volunteers are needed to help with registration, setup, teardown, and other tasks that will help make the walk a success.
