Families walk to remember lost infants

Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is hosting its 32nd annual event to honor and remember all babies lost through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth and newborn death. The Walk to Remember event to be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, will include a virtual memorial service on Zoom. At 3 p.m., there will be an in-person bubble ceremony on top of the garage and a walk on hospital property. Bereaved parents, children, family members, friends and employees are all welcome to attend.

"This is a special event where parents, siblings and families can come and honor the lives of their babies, while being surrounded by other families who have also experienced loss and understand their grief," says Jill Kottmeier, Perinatal Palliative & Spiritual Care manager at NCH.

Parking is available in Parking Garage A.

The hospital welcomes approximately 50 families each year to the event, which is presented by the NCH Renew through Sharing Program. The program supports families grieving the loss of a baby.

If you would like your baby's name in the program and the zoom information, please contact Jill Kottmeier at jkottmeier@nch.org.
