Chicago Bears 2022 High School All-Star For Week 3 Selected

On Sept. 15, the Chicago Bears announced today that kicker Danny Vuckovic of Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich was named the Chicago Bears "High School All-Star" for Week 3. The "High School All-Stars" programs is brought to you by Athletico Physical Therapy. The Bears will make a $500 donation to the youth football program of Vuckovic's choice.

On Sept. 9, senior kicker Danny Vuckovic kicked a 52-yard field goal over the crossbar as time expired, giving the Lake Zurich Bears (2-1) of Lake Zurich a dramatic 13-10 home conference win against the Stevenson Patriots (1-2) of Lincolnshire. The Bears trailed 10-0 to the Patriots heading into halftime before switching their strategies to make an unresponsive 13-0 comeback in the second half, with Vuckovic sealing the win at the buzzer. In addition to a 52-yard field-winning goal, Vuckovic also had a 43-yard field goal and a 68-yard punt. Lake Zurich now increased its win streak to six in a row over their Route 22 rivals. Lake Zurich hosted the Zion-Benton Zee Bees (1-3) on Friday (9/16).

The Chicago Bears "High School All-Star" launched the program in 2011. The nomination criteria for the "High School All-Star" program includes on-field performance, community involvement and good sportsmanship. Deserving high school players are nominated by a panel of local prep authorities and the winning player is selected each week from August 26-October 22. Since the program's inception, the Bears have donated more than $346,500 to Illinois high schools in support of their football programs.
