Des Plaines Park District presents Community Honor Roll Award

The Des Plaines Park District presented the Community Honor Roll Award to Donna Adam at the Park Board meeting on Tuesday, August 17. She was recognized with an award that reads: "For your outstanding dedication and commitment to furthering recreational benefits for the Des Plaines community."

Park District Executive Director Don Miletic spoke about how Donna's efforts had impacted the entire community with her ongoing efforts to clean up the Des Plaines community. She founded the Clean Up-Give Back organization in 2017, in which Donna works with many wonderful volunteers to clean up areas in need. Donna assisted the Park District at many neighborhood parks, Fall Fest event, and at Izaak Walton to ensure open space in Cook County Forest Preserve is clean for Des Plaines residents.

Miletic said, "She cleans with a smile and is someone that goes above and beyond."

In just 2021, Clean Up-Give Back's 1,379 volunteers were able to gather over 40,000 pounds of litter. Don, along with the Park Board of Commissioners, expressed their gratitude to Donna for her commitment to making Des Plaines a better place to live, work, and play.
