Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary hosts 'Drinks for Everyone' fundraiser Aug. 28

How can you reverse the cycle of poverty? In struggling nations, you start with clean water.

Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life. When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families. It is the most basic need for human survival and helps people escape the poverty where they live.

You can help by attending the Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club's "Drinks for Everyone" fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Pollyanna Brewing Company in Roselle.

The club has been raising funds for clean water for seven years, sending funds to help Flint, Michigan, and communities in Central America and Africa.

The fundraiser, like many charity fundraisers, took a couple years off due of COVID-19.

This year, the Rotary is doing a scaled-back version of their annual event at Pollyanna's.

Guests will receive a souvenir glass they can use for eight tastings between beer, wine and spirits.

Tickets are $30 and available on EventBrite.com at Drinks For Everyone! Spirits, Wine & Beer Tasting Fundraiser Tickets, Sun, Aug 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM | Eventbrite

The Chicago area is fortunate to have Lake Michigan provide its clean water. Not everyone is privileged to have a large fresh water clean lake in their area. By helping other communities with clean water Rotary is spreading good will.
