Brotherhood of Harmony to sing at Lake Zurich Farmers Market

The Lake Zurich Farmers Market has announced the engagement of the Brotherhood of Harmony as the featured musical entertainment between 3:30 and 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road in Lake Zurich.

The program will include old favorites like "My Wild Irish Rose," rock 'n' roll tunes like "Hello Mary Lou," and Beatles songs like "Yesterday."

Customers are invited to sing along with the chorus.

"We sing an extensive repertoire of popular music using four-part harmony to produce the barbershop quartet sound," chorus director Brian Cromer said.

The Lake Zurich Farmers Market takes place from 3-7 p.m. every Friday through Sept. 9. More than 30 vendors are in attendance weekly offering fresh produce, bakery items, sauces, honey, pesto, spices, cheese, eggs, fresh meat and more. The market also features booths for local artisans, nonprofits, hot food vendors and pet rescues.

"We're thrilled to have this barbershop chorus with us to entertain," Village of Lake Zurich Recreation Director Bonnie Caputo said. "I'm sure that our marketgoers will really appreciate not only the market's exciting vendors and products, but also this group's lively music."

The Brotherhood of Harmony meets weekly to rehearse at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at DeerGrove Covenant Church, 225 E. Helen Road, Palatine. The chorus has openings for all parts and skill levels, so anyone who loves to sing in invited.
