PADS of Elgin appoints Eileen McNamee as executive director

The board of directors of PADS of Elgin recently named Eileen McNamee as the new executive director.

PADS of Elgin is an emergency Shelter serving Northern Kane County and Hanover Township. The Emergency Shelter Program provides 365 days/nights of 24-hour safe emergency shelter and comprehensive case management and service coordination to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

In addition to shelter, the program also provides guests with access to shower and laundry facilities, three daily meals, transportation, and basic necessities such as hygiene products, clothing, footwear and coats.

Moreover, the goal at PADS is to ensure each guest is able to leave our shelter with the tools and resources they need in order to lead a self-sufficient life.

McNamee's experience includes over 20 years in the non-profit sector. She has worked within our community as a special event manager, independent fundraising consultant, and as the executive director of a private foundation. She began her career at PADS of Elgin in May 2019 working in development and fundraising. She was the driving force behind the "Winter Harvest" fundraiser, created the annual golf outing, and worked tirelessly to promote the work of PADS of Elgin throughout the community.

After being appointed associate director, she continued her work in the community advocating for PADS of Elgin and expanding homeless services and funding through our local and state governments. She is highly regarded by the staff, service partners and the board of directors. We look forward to her leadership as PADS continues to serve the homeless.
