St. Mark's Lutheran-St. Charles welcomes community to Holy Week events
St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Charles will host a community Easter egg hunt this Saturday, April 16, as part of their Holy Week activities.
The free family event will be held in the east lot of the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. It is open to the public. Separate egg hunts will be conducted for children ages 0-2, 3-5 and 6-9 years old. There will also be crafts and a photo booth.
Holy Week services begin with a communion service on Maundy Thursday at 6:30 p.m. April 14.
A Tenebrae service on Good Friday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 15.
"Easter is a great time for families to spend time together and to share the great message of the resurrection and our salvation," said Jamie Holt, senior pastor.
Easter Sunday services will be at 7, 8:30 and 11 a.m.
The two early services will be traditional worship format with the 11 a.m. service being a praise worship style.
Between the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services, a free breakfast will be held in the fellowship hall.
"We welcome the community to our services, said Holt. Holy Week is a very important time for Christians, and we want to share God's love with those that are looking for a church home."
St. Mark's Lutheran Church is located at 101 S. Sixth Ave., next to the St. Charles Public Library. It is affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod-Northern Illinois District.
