Great Lakes Credit Union donates $10,000 to Ukraine fund

Great Lakes Credit Union donated $10,000 to the Ukraine Relief Fund created by Selfreliance Federal Credit Union. Selfreliance FCU is located in the heart of Chicago's Ukrainian Village and was founded by Ukrainian immigrants.

Selfreliance FCU established the Selfreliance Foundation in 2005 to enable community and cultural organizations that allow the Ukrainian diaspora to prosper.

Most recently, the foundation created the Ukraine Relief Fund to provide immediate aid to trustworthy 501c3 groups helping Ukraine on multiple fronts, all with humanitarian purposes, including medical supplies, food supplies, refugee assistance and more.

"We are deeply saddened by the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine and felt moved to provide any support we could to those directly impacted," said Steven Bugg, president and chief executive officer for the credit union.

"Credit unions across the world have a history of uplifting and supporting our most vulnerable communities. We are honored to make this contribution to the Ukraine Relief Fund at Selfreliance FCU."
