AAUW Naperville Area to offer $5,000 scholarship for female local high school student
Due to the generosity of an AAUW Naperville Area member, this year AAUW Naperville Area will offer a $5,000 scholarship for a 2021-2022 female graduate of either Naperville Unit District 203 or Indian Prairie Unit District 204 with a 3.0 or higher grade-point average who plans to enter the medical field.
The Cariya Reed Legacy scholarship honors Cariya Reed, a 7-year-old girl whose life ended tragically due to domestic violence before her dreams could be fulfilled.
The heroic efforts of the medical personnel involved prompted the designation of this scholarship to be awarded to a young woman whose future includes becoming a medical professional, especially one dedicated to emergency medicine.
