Make memories in March at Wheeling Park District

Calling all dads, grandfathers, uncles and best gentlemen friends, put on your Hawaiian shirt and join us at the Wheeling Park District Community Recreation Center (CRC) on Friday, March 4, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, for the Daddy Daughter Luau. We've done all the planning so you can enjoy a fun evening with your special little girl(s). The tropical-themed event includes a pizza dinner, dessert table and enough games to create an experience you all will long remember. Register by February 28; the fee per couple is $38 for residents and $48 for non-residents. Each additional child is $15.

Parents, take time for yourself while the kids have a blast at the St. Patrick's Party. Preregister children, ages five to 10 years, by March 9, and drop them off at the CRC on Friday, March 11, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. A variety of crafts and games, including making shamrock cookies and playing leprechaun tag, are all part of the fun. Pizza is provided. The fee per child is $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents.

Those 55 years and older are invited to take part in several trips and activities during the month. Walk at your own pace through the unforgettable Holocaust Museum on Thursday, March 10, 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant, too. Play 10 games of Bingo with prizes every round at the CRC on Wednesday, March 16, 1:00-3:00 pm. Savor some of the best corned-beef sandwiches around or any of the other tasty treats at the famous Manny's Deli on Tuesday, March 29, 10:30 am-1:30 pm. All of these programs require advance registration.
