For All Saints Day, St. Charles church tolls bell 75 times in remembrance of 750,000 pandemic deaths

St. Charles Episcopal Church celebrated the remembrance of all those who have died from COVID-19 in the U.S. during their All Saints Sunday services on Nov. 7.

The Rev. Stacy Walker led prayers acknowledging members of the congregation and loved ones who passed away during the last 20 months during what is usually an annual service remembering saints who have gone before and those saints working in God's kingdom yet today.

In addition, this year Rev. Walker and music director Mark Downey planned a way to mark the 750,000 deaths our country has experienced due to the coronavirus pandemic by inviting the congregation to light one candle for every 10,000 people who have died, during which time the church bell also tolled 75 times.

St. Charles Church is located at 994 N. Fifth Ave. in St. Charles.

They are an LGBTQ+ welcoming community, with services at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sundays and children/youth formation at 9:45 a.m.

For more information, call the church office at (630) 584-2596, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
