Addison team takes fall ball championship

The Addison Silver Snipers are the 2021 champions of the Chicago Suburban Youth Baseball Association's Fall Ball Mustang division.

After compiling a perfect regular season, Addison was one of five teams heading to the playoffs with an undefeated record, drawing the No. 3 seed. The Silvers Snipers kept it rolling with six close victories to take home the championship.

In the first round, the Addison Silver Snipers won 15-9 over the No. 60-seed Bell Park Royals on Oct. 8, and followed it up on Oct. 10 with another win, 15-14 over the No. 30-seed Westdale Orange.

The next weekend, the team followed it up with two more wins: 13-10 over the No. 19 seed Schiller Park Red on Oct. 15, and 7-1 victory over the No. 6 seed Northlake Red on Oct. 17.

On Oct. 23, Addison Silver Snipers took it into extra innings for a 3-2 victory over the No. 2 seed Wilmette Tan.

The championship game on Oct. 26 at Community Park in Addison saw a packed crowed in attendance, cheering on both teams. It was an exciting, back-and-forth championship game with Westdale Blue, with the score being tied at 5-5 heading into the final inning before finishing with a 8-5 victory over the No. 20 seed Westdale Blue. Great hitting by both teams, and some awesome plays in the field.

A perfect game to end the Fall Ball Mustang season. A big thank you to the coaches and players on making this a successful season.
