Hanover Township partnering with Streamwood Police to offer depression screenings

Hanover Township therapists will offer free depression screenings at the Streamwood Police station, 401 E. Irving Park Road, Streamwood, on Sept. 29.

Open to all, residents can drop in from 4 to 8 p.m. to meet with a licensed mental health professional for a confidential screening.

"The pandemic has affected everyone differently, whether it be the economy, job market, or longer periods of isolation," said Nora Gonzalez, clinical manager of Hanover Township Youth & Family Services. "With September as National Suicide Prevention month, we are making every effort to reach all segments of the community."

Youth 12 and younger must have an adult present.

Therapists will review the results of the screening with each person and discuss additional counseling and resources on a case-by-case basis.
