Little Creek Farm rider finds success in dressage
Vee Dravilas, 10, riding out of Little Creek Farm, Streamwood, found success at her first dressage show at Silverwood Farm in Camp Lake, Wisconsin.
Vee and her horse Perseus, Percy for short, scored a 69.5% at the Silverwood Dressage held June 26 and 27.
Vee started riding on her 5th birthday and fell in love with horses and dressage immediately. She's been consistently riding ever since.
Dedicated to the sport at such a young age, Vee trains six days a week, making it a priority over playdates with other children her age.
When Vee isn't riding Percy, she's spending time doing barn chores at Little Creek Farm, doing basic horse care or just sitting and enjoying carrots with her faithful partner. Adding to the meticulous dedication, Vee spends her free time studying to improve her seat position and watch Olympic tests.
Vee is trained by Rosie Jullian-Simoes, a USDF Gold Medalist and international competitor, trained by her mother and Grand Prix trainer Julie Julian.
Jullian-Simoes has spent time in Germany riding at Hannoveraner Verband, competed at three national championships with top 10 finishes, and most notably representing the United States on gold and silver medal, under-25, Grand Prix teams.
Jullian-Simoes is currently trained by Adrienne Lyle, who represented the United States at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Vee, Jullian-Simoes and Percy will be competing next on Aug. 24-29 at the Dressage Festival of Champions at HITS Chicago at Lamplight in Wayne.
