Rocks of Kindness Project at Friendship Village Senior Living Community in Schaumburg

Last week, residents of Friendship Village senior living community in Schaumburg participated in Cross Country Mortgage's Rocks of Kindness Project.

In collaboration with the Schaumburg business, the residents painted rocks with inspiring and positive messages to be shared around the greater Schaumburg area. Cross Country Mortgage provided the materials, asking residents of the retirement community to help "spread light and positivity in our community," explained Amanda De La Matta, lifestyles activity coordinator at Friendship Village.

"The residents were thrilled to participate."

Inspired several years ago by a woman in Massachusetts, the international Kindness Rocks Project is a program in which participants paint colorful and uplifting messages on stones that are made available for people to pick up, keep, and enjoy.
