Saint Viator establishes new endowed scholarship

Thanks to a group of longtime benefactors, current and past trustees and administrators, Saint Viator High School has established the Brian and Maria Liedlich Endowed Scholarship.

The fund is named for current Saint Viator President Brian Liedlich and his wife, Maria, who have both contributed significantly to the growth of the school over the last five years.

Liedlich was the first lay president of the Arlington Heights Catholic high school and has served as the school's president for the last five years. He previously served as the executive director of Institutional Advancement and as a member of the school's board of trustees, dedicating a total of 16 years to Saint Viator. Liedlich committed to becoming a lay associate of the Clerics of St. Viator during his tenure as well.

"Over the last five years, Brian has led the school through incredible change, establishing a new mission, vision and strategic plan that has served as the road map to becoming a stronger institution," said Vice President of Development Tom Ramsden.

"And with every initiative that Brian led, two things were always evident - he cared about the well-being of every student in the building and his wife, Maria, was there to support him and the school."

The scholarship fund, named in Brian and Maria's honor, will provide one deserving student with tuition assistance, so they can fulfill their dream of attending Saint Viator High School.

"My wife, Maria, and I are truly touched by this honor," said Liedlich. "We have worked hard to make a Viator education attainable for as many students as possible, and I couldn't think of a better way to continue that tradition. Thank you to Saint Viator, the trustees and donors for this tremendous honor."
