Nate Brill Named New Carmel Catholic Athletic Director

Carmel Catholic High School has named Nate Brill as its new athletic director, replacing Mark Pos, who announced his retirement earlier this spring. As associate director for admissions and an assistant football coach at Carmel since 2020, Brill brings nearly two decades of experience in public, private, and nonprofit educational systems.

As athletic director, Brill's responsibilities will include executing searches for vacant coaching positions, conducting annual evaluations of all head coaches, and representing Carmel Catholic at conference, county, and IHSA athletic director meetings. In addition, he'll collaborate with other Carmel officers to disseminate information to the media, solicit and assign adult chaperones and workers for home events, and help manage visiting teams, officials, and spectators at home events.

"Nate will bring vision and leadership while continuing to help grow our programs and improve our facilities," said Principal Jason Huther. "He has impressed everyone with whom he's worked with during his short time here at Carmel, both in the Admissions department and as a football coach. He is professional, organized, and has a tremendous work ethic."

Mr. Brill has 17 years of experience in high school and post-secondary athletics, including his roles as sports information director at Robert Morris University from 2018-2020, where he also served as an assistant football coach from 2010-2020.

"Carmel has a storied athletic tradition, and I look forward to leveraging the past in order to build a better tomorrow for our student-athletes and the greater Corsair community," said Brill. "I'm grateful for the tremendous opportunity that Dr. (Brad) Bonham and Principal Huther have afforded my family."

Prior to Robert Morris University, Brill worked for nearly a decade at Warren Township High School, where he served as a special education teacher and assistant football coach.

"Winning teams are born of winning cultures and sustained success requires an organizational commitment to excellence," Brill added. "In the near term, I look forward to building relationships with our students, coaches, and support staff, as well as with community members who are dedicated to enhancing the student-athlete experience here at Carmel. Over time, we will work together to grow a culture that honors our mission as a Catholic school, and that elevates the Corsair brand to even greater heights."
