Get ready for summer fun at Wheeling Park District

The month of May starts with Harry Potter Day at the Wheeling Park District. Kids ages 6-12 can make crafts and play themed games from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Community Recreation Center. Register by Wednesday, April 28.

Pilates Reformer Demo Day is Wednesday, May 5, at the Wheeling Park District Health & Fitness Center. Have you tried Pilates Reformer Training? Anyone 18 and older can register for a free, 20-minute demonstration and experience how effective this training is for increasing strength and flexibility. To reserve a demonstration time, call (847) 465-2943.


Those who are at least 55 years of age are invited to Bingo at the CRC from 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 5. Register by Wednesday, April 28, for 10 games and the chance to win prizes.

Kids Pizza and Movie Party, on Friday, May 14, is a chance for parents to enjoy a night out without the kids. Register children ages 5-10 by May 11 and drop them off at 6 p.m. at the CRC dressed in their comfy pajamas for pizza and a movie. Pickup is at 8:30 p.m. Spaces are limited; no day-of registration available. Follow the Facebook event for movie title announcements.

The Family Aquatic Center, 105 Community Blvd., Wheeling, is set to open Saturday, May 29. In addition to shade structures and lounge chairs around the zero-depth entry main pool, there are drop slides, tube and body slides, a toddler slide, diving board, lap lanes, water playground with large tipping bucket and splash pool with water basketball and monkey-bar activity pad.
