Grants Available to Organizations Making a Difference in Buffalo Grove Community

Grants of up to $2,500 are available through the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club for agencies or organizations that plan to, or are making a positive difference in the Buffalo Grove community. Initiatives should provide long-term and sustainable benefits for Buffalo Grove, and its residents. The deadline to apply is Saturday, May 30, 2021.

While charitable and non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation are invited to apply, this is not a requirement. Faith-based, or other organizations sponsoring projects that can benefit the community are also invited to apply.

Preference will be given to projects (as opposed to ongoing causes) that have the potential to improve the Buffalo Grove community - making it a better place to live and/or work. Effective projects should respond to real issues, improve the lives of community members, be realistic and utilize available resources, and have specific goals with measurable results.

"Our Community Grants program is aimed at supporting organizations or groups whose goal is to positively impact Buffalo Grove and make a difference,"said Deenie Pomilia, the Community Grants chair. "This past year has been challenging for all of us, as well as for organizations that serve our community members; we are thrilled to be able to offer this assistance."

Applications can be downloaded at bgrotary.org/community-grants. Organizations that apply must include a clear mission and goals, along with structured leadership. For questions, please contact Grants Committee Chair Deenie Pomilia at (847) 533-6605 or via email at grants@bgrotary.org.

In addition to Community Grants, the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club is also currently sponsoring Vocational Scholarships to assist with tuition costs for Buffalo Grove residents preparing for a vocational career requiring less than a 4-year degree; the application deadline is March 22, 2021. Please visit bgrotary.org/v-scholarship for an application and reach out to Vocational Scholarship Chair Martha Weiss at weiss.martha@gmail.com with any questions.

The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club is also looking for new members who are interested in giving back and living by the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self." The club meets weekly on Thursdays starting at 12:15 p.m. Prospective members are invited to email info@bgrotary.org for more information.
