New Operator of Little Creek Farm in Streamwood

As of Saturday, February 27, 2021, Jason Lundin of Little Creek Farm LLC is the new operator of Little Creek Farm; a horse stable owned by the Streamwood Park District, located at 1345 Schaumburg Rd in Streamwood.

Jason, who comes to Little Creek Farm with a lifetime worth of horse-related knowledge and experience, has been assisting his older brother, who owns his own set of stables in McHenry, IL for years.

Little Creek Farm is Jason's first venture into running a horse stable.

When asked about his "long-term plan" for Little Creek Farm, Jason was not shy about detailing all of the renovations required to bring his vision to life. Little Creek Farm will be renovating the indoor and outdoor arenas, improving landscaping with new stone and greenery, updating signage, regrading the parking lot, renovating the outdoor paddocks, and improving all of the 38 stalls within the Little Creek Farm stable. Ultimately, the addition of new energy-efficient LED lighting at Little Creek Farm will help with lightning and assist with lowering the utility costs involved in running day-to-day operations.

Jason and Little Creek Farm LLC have plans for community involvement and engagement as well. Little Creek Farm is planning potential events, including a possible future Octoberfest. The stables also plan to provide riding lessons and pony rides to the public and park district residents. Little Creek Farm LLC hopes to work with the Cook County Forest Preserve District to improve the equestrian experience for boarders and potential riders at the Arthur L. Janura Forest Preserve located across Schaumburg Road.

Little Creek Farm is capable of boarding 38 horses in their 10' x 10' stalls, which are typically ideal for quarter horses. More modern stables have the capacity of boarding full-sized show horses with 12' x12' stalls. Little Creek Farm envisions a future where their stalls reach the 12' x12' dimensions.

If you're interested in knowing more about the new Little Creek Farm, or how you can board your horses, please contact Little Creek Farm LLC via email at LittleCFarmLLC@gmail.com, or by phone at (630) 398-7398. A new website and social media pages are in development and will be available soon.

The Streamwood Park District has owned the land that Little Creek Farm sits on since 2004 when the land was acquired from the Kirk Corporation as part of the development of the Little Creek Subdivision. It is one of the last remaining stables in the Streamwood area and has great access to the Arthur L. Janura Forest Preserve Poplar Creek equestrian trails.
